Professor of Strategic Organisation
Thorbjørn Knudsen is Professor of Strategic Organization at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Before joining the Frankfurt School, he was a Director of the research unit for Strategic Organization Design (SOD) at the University of Southern Denmark. He is also one of the Founders of the Danish Institute for Advanced Study.
Professor Knudsen conducts research in the areas of organization design, organizational adaptation, and strategic decision-making. His research has appeared in journals such as Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal. Professor Knudsen has served as Senior Editor of Organization Science and he is present or past editorial board member of journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Organization Design, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, and Strategy Science. Professor Knudsen is also a founding member of the Experimental Organization Science community (EOS), the Organizational Design Community (ODC), and the Theoretical Organization Methods (TOM) society. Thorbjørn teaches strategy and organization design.
Professor Knudsen conducts research in the areas of organization design, organizational adaptation, and strategic decision-making.
