Frankfurt School once again ranked Germany’s top talent hub for auditors

manager magazin ranking confirms leading position for the fourth consecutive time
Frankfurt School of Finance & Management has once again been recognised as Germany’s leading university for the education of auditors. In the latest manager magazin ranking, it secures first place for the fourth time in a row.
At the heart of this success is the Master in Auditing programme. Against the backdrop of increasing demands for transparency and trust, auditors play a pivotal role in today’s economy. Globalisation, growing regulatory requirements and technological developments – such as data-driven analytics and AI-supported audit procedures – are increasing the complexity of the profession and expanding the required skill set. At the same time, topics such as governance, ethics, sustainability and risk assessment are gaining importance, further underlining the growing relevance of the profession.
Frankfurt School actively addresses these developments and continuously advances its Master in Auditing programme – with the aim not only of preparing graduates for current requirements, but also of enabling them to actively shape the future of the profession. Initiated as part of the AuditXcellence initiative founded by the Big Four (KPMG, EY, PwC and Deloitte), the programme combines academic excellence with close integration of theory and practice and prepares students specifically for the German auditor examination. At the same time, it equips them with the professional, regulatory and ethical competencies that are essential for a responsible role in the public interest – thereby providing a strong foundation for a career in auditing.
Professor Dr Edgar Löw, Professor of Management Practice in Accounting and Programme Director of the Master in Auditing, is thrilled about the first place in the “manager magazin” ranking: “For the fourth time, and for two consecutive years each time, we have received this award. Our ambition is to provide our students with the best possible professional and ethical education so that they can deliver high audit quality and act in a well-understood public interest. Our graduates are highly aware of the significant responsibility that comes with their profession. They are our ambassadors. Being ranked number one among German universities once again is a great honour for us. It motivates and encourages us to continue on this path. This award belongs to everyone who has contributed to this achievement through strong teamwork.”
The ranking “Germany’s Best Auditors” is compiled by manager magazin in cooperation with the Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Management und Beratung (WGMB). It is based on a comprehensive survey: in 2026, 87 auditing firms and 1,668 clients were asked to name the universities they consider best at preparing students for a career in auditing. Frankfurt School has consistently ranked at the top in previous editions. The award ceremony took place in Berlin on 19 March, where Professor Dr Edgar Löw accepted the prize in person.
The next cohort of the Master in Auditing programme will begin on 4 May at Frankfurt School.
