530 graduates celebrate the successful completion of their studies

Frankfurt School’s Graduation Ceremonies 2025
On the last Saturday of November, 530 Frankfurt School graduates celebrated the completion of their studies at the Alte Oper with their families and friends. The graduation ceremonies mark the official end of their academic journey and offer them the opportunity to look back on their years of study and celebrate everything they have accomplished.
In addition to the official presentation of diplomas on stage, speeches by Frankfurt School alumni are always a special part of the programme. This year, three alumnae shared their insights and experiences: Elena von Metzler, Partner and Member of the Supervisory Board at Bankhaus Metzler; Sandra Veseli, Managing Director, Co-Head of EMEA Regional Management and Head of the EU at Moody’s Ratings; and Dr Mi-Sonn Kim, Member of the Frankfurt School Advisory Board and a long-standing leader in international finance. Their contributions, together with the students’ personal reflections, added depth and warmth to the celebrations and created a memorable atmosphere.
The ceremonies also offered a wonderful opportunity to recognise outstanding academic achievements. The highest-performing students from each programme were honoured with the Academic Excellence Award. In addition, Sarah Schmidtke, Managing Director of IFK, presented the IFK Award to the three top students from the full-time programmes, while Dr Carsten Lehr, Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) awarded the FIRM Award to the three leading graduates of the Master of Finance specialising in Risk Management. Students with a GPA of 1.2, equivalent to 92 per cent or above, were further recognised through their inclusion on the Dean’s List.
During the first ceremony on Saturday, 114 graduates from the Master in Auditing, Master in Corporate Performance & Restructuring, Master of Banking & Capital Markets Law, Master in Mergers & Acquisitions and the Doctoral Programme were honoured. The second ceremony then celebrated 152 graduates from the MBA for Executives in Kinshasa, the Full-time and Part-time MBA, as well as the Master in Data Analytics & Management, the Master in EU Banking & Financial Regulation and the Online Master of Leadership in Sustainable Finance programmes. The day concluded with the third ceremony, during which 264 graduates from the various Master’s programmes were formally recognised.
