Bachelor of Science Scholarship Programme

Frankfurt School maintains a scholarship program for its Bachelor of Science geared toward highly qualified students. It consists of a reduction of the tuition fee for the entire duration of the studies. The semester(s) abroad are included in the scholarship, provided that students choose to go to one of our partner universities under a so-called exchange agreement.

Frankfurt School offers different types of scholarships which are open to all students with excellent grades and a strong performance in the Frankfurt School admissions process. They consist of a 15%, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% reduction of the tuition fees. Also, we take into consideration your background, motivation, financial need and extracurricular engagement.

The following Scholarship programmes are available for future BSc students:

• Diversity scholarship programme
• General FS Scholarship
• Premium Scholarship

Diversity scholarship programme

Since Autumn 2020, Frankfurt School offers a merit-based scholarship programme to ensure that talented students from a diverse range of backgrounds can focus on their future without worrying about their finances.

The diversity scholarship programme promotes diversity in terms of race, academic background, gender and ability. Successful applicants will receive either a 15%, 25% or 50% reduction in tuition fees. If you feel that you meet one of the following criteria, you are welcome to apply for one of the following scholarships.

General FS Scholarship

The Frankfurt School General Scholarship is intended for applicants with very good grades and a good result in the application process. Applicants can receive a scholarship of 15%, 25%, 50% or 75%.

The President's Scholarship
We award this scholarship to exceptionally highly qualified students. It includes a 100% tuition reduction.

Premium Scholarship

German Merit Foundation (Studienstiftung) Fast Track and Scholarship ("allgemeine Hochschulreife/Abitur" only)
Students who are recommended by their school for a scholarship from the German Merit Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes) will receive priority admission to the BSc programme on a fast track. Instead of completing the full admissions process they only have to apply online, sit the interview and submit proof of language knowledge. Upon acceptance, they will automatically be granted a scholarship with 50% tuition reduction. If they are subsequently accepted into the Merit Foundation itself, Frankfurt School will increase the scholarship to 75% tuition reduction from the third semester onward.

Since schools typically submit their recommendations to the Merit Foundation in June or July future students can apply for this scholarship even if they have already been admitted to the BSc programme, provided they have not started their studies yet. Applicants will need a confirmation signed by the headmaster of their school confirming that they have been or will be recommended for the Merit Foundation's scholarship programme. Students also need to maintain a minimum grade point average of 1.2 on the German grading scale.

Should you not manage to apply as soon as you started studying, you will lose the right to apply among first-year students. This also applies, if you decide to enrol in a study programme for formal reasons only.

How to apply

During your application for one of the BSc programmes at Frankfurt School you have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship and state why we should award you a scholarship. Once applicants have been offered a place at Frankfurt School, the BSc Admissions and Scholarship Committee will let you know whether we will award you a scholarship.

The Committee meets regularly throughout the year to review applications and award scholarships. Our Diversity Scholarship Programme is offered to support future students in these difficult times. We, therefore, encourage prospective students to apply until our application deadline - 30 June. It is not necessary to have the final school leaving certificate at this stage.

Under no circumstances is it possible to apply for a scholarship if a student has already begun his or her BSc studies at Frankfurt School. The decision of the Committee is final and cannot be appealed. There is no legal right to a scholarship.

Conditions

The scholarship may be reduced or revoked at any time if the student behaves in a way that is incompatible with the norms and values of Frankfurt School or the intentions of the scholarship. Frankfurt School may reclaim tuition reductions if the student made false statements in the application.

The scholarship is subject to a satisfactory academic performance. Every year the BSc Admissions and Scholarship Committee reviews the performance of the students. All scholarship holders are expected to maintain a certain average grade over the past two semesters.

If a scholarship holder does not fulfil the condition, Frankfurt School will downgrade the scholarship for the next two semesters. The scholarship will be reinstated in full if the student meets the criteria at the subsequent review. If a student fails to meet the conditions for a second consecutive time, the scholarship will be rescinded irrevocably. If a student is only slightly below the threshold, the Committee will also evaluate and consider a student's engagement with the school community, such as leadership roles in initiatives, the Student Council or as FS Ambassador, before taking a decision regarding the tuition reduction. Exceptions in case of hardship are also possible.

Scholarship holders are expected to participate in activities that the School organises as part of the scholarship programme. Scholarship holders also agree to be available for a reasonable amount of time for the school's public relation activities, such as interviews and photo sessions.

For those, who do not plan to study right after school, the school proposal remains valid for three years. In case you plan a volunteer service,  an apprenticeship, an internship or similar and you are not enrolled at a university during this time, please apply immediately after you started your studies. You will not get any interim notifications or reminders by us. If you do an apprenticeship which last longer than three years, please contact us right away.

The aim of the master scholarship programme is to provide especially talented candidates with an opportunity to study irrespective of their financial circumstances.

Overview

Frankfurt School offers scholarships to top applicants of our pre-experience master's programmes:

• Master of Finance (MSc)
• Master in Management (MSc)
• Master in Applied Data Science (MSc)
• Master in Financial Technology (MSc)
• Master in Real Estate (MSc)

Selection criteria include candidates’ academic results (grade of first degree), admission test score (e.g. GMAT), performance in the Frankfurt School selection procedure and candidates’ personal achievements and needs (extracurricular activities, social commitment, intercultural skills, international experience and, if relevant, professional experience and internships). Scholarships cover a partial amount of tuition. 

Scholarship Application Process

To be considered for a scholarship, applicants have to answer a question in the scholarship section of the online application form. Scholarship applications sent after the application will not be considered. Completed applications for all of our pre-experience master's programmes (start date: 26 August 2024) must be submitted by 30 June 2024. Incomplete applications or applications received after this date cannot be considered for a scholarship. Frankfurt School awards master scholarships continuously throughout the admission process on a first come first serve basis. 

The Scholarship Committee will review the scholarship candidates once the application is completed and the applicant is admitted. The Scholarship Committee’s decision is final and candidates have no legal entitlement to a scholarship.

Frankfurt School awards attractive partial scholarships with the aim of enhancing the diversity of our MBA. You can apply for up to two scholarships directly in your online MBA application (but only one scholarship can be awarded) We offer the following scholarship options:

• High-Performing & Outstanding Candidates Scholarship: This scholarship aims to give recognition to applicants with outstanding academic performance and career trajectory as well as an excellent admissions performance.
   
• Entrepreneur & Leadership Scholarship: For motivated applicants with proven entrepreneurial and/or leadership skills and achievements or concrete plans of establishing their own business.
   
• Sector-Specific Scholarship (e.g. Engineering, Finance, Technology, Innovation): For applicants with a specialised background in any field and career trajectory in their area of expertise, who are looking to gain general management & business knowledge with an MBA to further develop their career (this scholarship is not available for the International Healthcare MBA).
   
• Women in Business Scholarship: For female applicants who have demonstrated success, professionally or personally, in the field of business.
   
• Diversity Scholarship: For international MBA applicants who bring diversity and a global mindset to the classroom with their background or previous experience.

Overview

We award scholarships to applicants for the following programmes:

• Executive MBA
• MBA in International Healthcare Management
• Part-time MBA
• Full-time MBA

Scholarships cover a partial amount of tuition for the respective programme (up to 30%).

Selection criteria also include the candidates’ academic results, admission test, application quality, personal achievements and needs. This includes extracurricular activities, social commitment, intercultural skills, international experience and professional experience.

Scholarship Application Process

Scholarships must be applied for within the online application, there is no separate scholarship application. Subsequent scholarship applications will not be considered. Frankfurt School awards MBA scholarships on a rolling basis. We therefore recommend applying as soon as possible.

The MBA scholarship committee will review the scholarship application once the admission decision has been made. The scholarship committee’s decision is final and candidates have no legal entitlement to a scholarship.

Women in Business Scholarship
For female students with a proven motivation in business.

Entrepreneurship Scholarship
For motivated students with a proven entrepreneurial streak.

Global IB Scholarship
For students who have completed or are about to complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program.

Scholarship for German Schools Abroad
For students who have finished or are about to finish secondary education at one of the German Schools Abroad (Deutsche Auslandsschulen). The school needs to be recognised by the Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen.

Quantitative Excellence
Scholarship for students who have exceptionally high grades in math.

Data Science
For students with very good mathematical skills and a strong interest in the analysis and innovative use of data.

Speech and Debate Scholarship
For students with outstanding communication skills and a strong interest in public speaking and debating.

MINT Scholarship
For students who show extracurricular engagement in one of the MINT subjects and study at a MINT school.

Social engagement scholarship
For students who have shown a strong interest in extracurricular social activites.

Intercultural competencies scholarship
For students who have already gained international experience and shown that they have strong intercultural competencies.

Sports Scholarship
For students who have demonstrated an outstanding sporting ability.

Our MSc Diversity Scholarships cover a partial amount of the tuition fee in our Master of Finance, Master in Management, Master in Applied Data Science, Master in Financial Technology and Master in Real Estate programmes.

Entrepreneurship Scholarship
For motivated students with a proven entrepreneurial streak that has shown global outreach.

Global Development Scholarship
For students from developing economies who have shown excellent academic performance. This scholarship is specifically but not exclusively for students from South-East Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Africa.

Global Diversity Scholarship
For students who bring diversity to the classroom in terms of background or previous experience.

Social Engagement Scholarship
For students who have shown a strong interest in leading extracurricular social activities.

Sports Scholarship
For students who have demonstrated an outstanding sporting ability.

STEM Scholarship
For students with a proven motivation in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.

Women in Business Scholarship
For female students who have demonstrated potential professionally or personally in the field of business.

CHOM CAPITAL Sustainable Impact Diversity Scholarship (exclusively for Master of Finance and Master in Financial Technology applicants)
For students who have a proven interest in sustainability issues and want to select our Sustainable Finance concentration. The scholarship is made possible by CHOM CAPITAL GmbH. Application Deadline: 31 May

Corporate Governance Diversity Scholarship (exclusively for Master in Management, Master of Finance, Master in Corporate Performance & Restructuring, Master in Mergers & Aquisitions and Master in Banking & Capital Markets Law applicants)
For students who have a proven interest in corporate governance issues and commit to writing their thesis on a corporate governance topic. The scholarship is made possible by the Corporate Governance Institute at Frankfurt School. Application Deadline: 31 May

Lincoln International: Empowering Women in Business & Strategy (exclusively for Master in Management applicants)
For female students aspiring to gain insights and enter into M&A careers via the Global Strategy and Data and Business Analytics concentrations in the Master in Management programme of Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Successful candidates commit to an internship in Lincoln International's Frankfurt office during the summer, are supported via additional skill training, network and mentoring programmes and get the opportunity to work alongside seasoned international professionals within M&A in a variety of sectors with a view to a permanent job offer for successful students following their Masters completion. The Klaus-Peter Müller Scholarship was introduced through a generous one million Euro donation by Prof. Dr. h.c. Klaus-Peter Müller, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Commerzbank AG and Honorary Chairman of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management Foundation.

Application

The scholarship must be applied for within the online application process, where the applicant is required to answer the scholarship specific questions and provide supporting documents to verify eligibility. Additionally, applicants will have to submit a motivational letter expressing how they actively plan to contribute to Frankfurt School and the FS community. Please note that the scholarship is exclusively open to German citizens as well as individuals who have obtained their higher education entrance qualification (e.g., the German Abitur) in Germany.

Deadlines

The scholarship will be awarded as part of the Frankfurt School admissions process. Therefore, the scholarship application deadline is the same as the specific programme application deadline (end of June for the pre-experience master programmes and end of July for the Frankfurt MBA). Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

The scholarships are being awarded in two rounds:

Round 1

• Application deadline: 15 April 2025
• Admission letter has to be received by 15 May 2025
• The scholarship will be awarded by 2 June 2025

Round 2

• Application deadline: 30 June 2025
• Admission letter has to be received by 15 July 2025
• The scholarship will be awarded by 4 August 2025

Scholarships will initially be awarded for 2 semesters only (one semester for applicants who join in the summer semester) which will be reviewed after this time. Scholarships can be reduced or retracted if the scholarship holder does not meet the required expectations.

Selection

The scholarship committee will award each scholarship on an individual basis. There is no legal right to claim a scholarship.

Giving Back

Klaus-Peter Müller scholarship holders are expected to support the school as an FS ambassador and actively contribute to the Frankfurt School community. Following graduation, engagement as a FS alumnus is expected as well as relative financial support towards the scholarship pool.

Frankfurt School was one of the first German universities to engage with the Deutschlandstipendium federal scholarship programme.
In 2025/26, FS expects to award 60 scholarships for students in all programmes (except doctoral).
Eligible: anyone admitted to or enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at FS for WS 2025/26.
FS encourages diversity: women and students with immigrant backgrounds are especially invited to apply.
Scholarship: €300 per month, paid as a non-repayable grant, conditional on FS enrolment.

The Frankfurt Institute for Risk Management and Regulation (FIRM) sponsors partial scholarships for up to two semester fees for selected Master of Finance and Master in Financial Technology students who choose the Risk Management concentration.

Scholarships are awarded continuously during the admission process on a first come, first serve basis. Applications must be completed and submitted by 30 June 2025. Subsequent applications will not be considered.

The scholarships are granted individually; decisions are final, and there is no legal entitlement.

To be considered, applicants must:

• Hold an excellent undergraduate degree
• Be admitted to the Master of Finance or Master in Financial Technology at Frankfurt School with the Risk Management concentration selected
• Receive no financial support from an employer covering more than two semester fees

Application process: Applicants must answer the relevant scholarship question in the scholarship section of the online application form for the chosen Master programme.

FIDERH offers loans to Mexican students admitted to Frankfurt School Masters’ and MBA programmes.

The loan is offered for studies of up to 24 months in duration with the maximum amount of 200 000 MXN per year. The loan amount may be used for tuition and living expenses.

• Applicable to study programmes already under way
• No administrative costs
• No payments and no interest during the studies
• Students receive the resources in foreign currency and pay back in Mexican pesos
• Start of repayment one year after graduation
• 10 year repayment period
• Discount in interest payments if students pay on time and return to work in Mexico
• Interest payments are foregone if students return to work at a Mexican university as a researcher or professor
