Frankfurt School of Finance & Management is one of Europe’s leading business schools, accredited by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a full-time Professor of Education in Information Systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive teaching experience in information systems with a demonstrated interest in and commitment to teaching and excellence, along with programme development, leadership, and scholarly development in information systems education. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to teaching and programme development in information systems and the overall development of the Management Department and Frankfurt School as a whole. Your profile:
- Ph.D. or equivalent academic qualification in the field of information systems or a closely related discipline;
- Significant teaching and research accomplishments in the field of information systems, including technical, organisational, and/or managerial aspects of information systems;
- Excellence in information systems teaching and educational leadership (e.g., through teaching innovation, programme development, etc.);
- Solid technical expertise, preferably in areas such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, enterprise architecture management, cybersecurity, or digital transformation;
- Relevant scholarly activities with publications in international journals and conferences;
- Close relationships with industry to draw on in teaching and research;
- Experience in co-operation with universities and scientific institutions;
- Outstanding English communication skills;
- International experience.
Your duties:
- Development, teaching, and delivery of information systems courses across the various FS degree programmes;
- Contributing to the development of new and enhancement of existing programmes at FS;
- Responsibility for enhancing students’ experience and journey to help position FS as an entrepreneurial hub related to technology and technology management;
- Potential involvement in executive education in areas such as digital business or digital finance;
- Maintaining strong industry and corporate connections;
- Mentoring students;
- Performing services for the School (e.g., in the context of academic committees, etc.);
- Contributing to thought leadership and the academic community on the basis of applied research;
- Exhibiting sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, international, and ethnic backgrounds of the FS students.
Desirable:
- Particular interest in FinTech, InsureTech, artificial intelligence, digital disruption, digital transformation, and business model innovation;
- Good understanding of the financial industry;
- Entrepreneurial mindset;
- Experience in innovative teaching formats.
