The Forum
The Central Bank of Iraq and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management are jointly organizing a high-level conference that brings together Iraqi, German, and European banks and financial institutions. The event will offer a platform for in-depth dialogue on Iraq’s banking sector, focusing on reform strategies, resilience and international integration. The conference presents a unique opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of Iraq’s financial system and its future direction.

- Strengthening the stability and resilience of Iraq’s banking system.
- The role of international integration in supporting sustainable growth and risk management.
- Practical measures to improve Iraq’s creditworthiness and facilitate engagement with global capital markets.
- Collaboration between Iraqi banks, regulators, and international financial institutions to modernize infrastructure and practices.

- Facilitate substantive dialogue between European and Iraqi banking practitioners.
- Explore how collaboration between regulators, central banks, and commercial banks can strengthen the financial sector and open pathways for international engagement.

Visa Requirements for EU / European Citizens
Kurdistan Region of Iraq (Erbil) – Special Entry Requirements
For participants traveling to Erbil (Kurdistan Region of Iraq, KRI), a visa on arrival is available, but pre-application online is required.
This means:
- You submit your details online before traveling (passport copy, personal data, purpose of visit) online here
- Upon approval, you receive an entry confirmation by email.
- On arrival at Erbil International Airport (EBL), the visa is stamped into your passport.
