Frankfurt School’s Sustainable World Academy is working with DAAD to develop a digital education system for African universities. The Kick-Off meeting to launch the Digital Initiative for African Centres of Excellence (DIGI-FACE) project took place from March 3 to March 6, 2020, at Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

DIGI-FACE is a three-year DAAD funded project, which aims to support and strengthen the digital capabilities of all DAAD African Centres of Excellence and their networks through the development of e- and blended learning modules and digital tools. The platform will house a number of tools and functions such as the teaching and learning management system Moodle, collaborative tools, project management tools for research and PhD projects, as well as a research and publish space.

Together with project partners and African Centres of Excellence, Frankfurt School’s Sustainable World Academy will develop a business model that supports long-term sustainability of the DIGI-FACE platform beyond the DAAD funded period to ensure its ability to meet demands in a long-term future.
