Frankfurt am Main, 30.03.2020 12:00:00

China was the origin of the current Corona-pandemic but is now under way to become a template to fight the virus and to restart the economy successfully. Moreover, China assists other countries in difficult times and present itself as an international responsible power. By doing so, it graphs the geopolitical opportunity to fill the vacuum left by the US and the failure of the EU to handle a crisis again.

At the virtual press briefing Prof. Dr. Horst Löchel, Head of the Sino-German Centre of Finance & Economics and MBA Programme Director at Frankfurt School, will especially focus on the following topics:

  • China’s strategy to fight the virus and to relaunch the economy – what to expect for 2020?
  • Surprises in economic policy: China’s “fine tuning” instead of “bazookas in the West”
  • Accelerating a trend: the geopolitical rise of China
