Frankfurt am Main, 01.09.2020 12:00:00

Frankfurt School welcomes exactly 331 new Bachelor of Science students for the start of the 2020/21 winter semester. The semester officially starts today. The orientation week and an opening ceremony took place last week and also at the drive-in cinema in Gravenbruch on Saturday.

Professor Nils Stieglitz, President of the Frankfurt School, welcomed the new students and their parents: "We would certainly have preferred to celebrate on campus. But the drive-in cinema is a cool alternative and I am sure we will have a great party. From next week, we'll be able to get to know each other even better and exchange ideas. I wish you every success in your studies, making new friends and making personal progress!”

Andy Hamer, a bachelor’s graduate of FS, Class of 2007, discussed his studies and career in a speech. After holding various positions in banking and finance in Frankfurt and New York, he is now Director at WeWork in Berlin. His recommendation to first-year students: "Take advantage of opportunities, be open to alternatives and use the many networks that Frankfurt School opens up for you.“

Isabel Tretow, who will complete her studies in 2021 and who is involved in the student consultancy FS Student Consulting, gave the students important lessons to learn. "Stay curious and discover new interests through our student initiatives. Grow from defeats and follow your personal goals. In the end, you can achieve even more.“

Frankfurt School students, who supported the event as ambassadors, handed out cinema-standard snacks such as popcorn and ice cream. Music from DJ Felix Moese provided a relaxed atmosphere for the evening.
