Frankfurt am Main, 31.08.2021 12:00:00

Last Friday, Frankfurt School welcomed 80 new Bachelor of Arts students to the Frankfurt campus. All of them are already working, so will be studying for their degrees on a part-time basis in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg or Munich, or using the new, virtual @Home option. Professor Nils Stieglitz was the first to greet the new students: “I enjoy thinking back to my time as an undergraduate studying for my Bachelor’s degree, and am regularly surprised by how often I use the specialist skills I learned all that time ago – even now, in my current role. I’m delighted that you’ve all chosen to build this educational foundation with us. Enjoy your time here.”

After Professor Stieglitz had finished welcoming the new students, Frankfurt School alumna Stefanie Pietsch, Managing Director at Commerzbank AG, spoke about her time studying at Frankfurt School and the lifelong friendships she had made in the process. At Commerzbank, she is responsible for sustainability as it affects personal and corporate clients: “Sustainable finance is something I’m very passionate about. We’re all responsible for building a sustainable future, and we can all make our own contributions – both professionally and personally.” Stefanie Pietsch finished her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006. She has been working at Commerzbank AG for 20 years and now heads the Client Management division’s Wealth Management unit. She still stays in close contact with Frankfurt School as a mentor to Bachelor and Master students.

Sophia Donauer – currently in her fifth semester at Frankfurt School studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration while working as a personal client adviser at Sparkasse – then welcomed the new students to the Frankfurt School community. She shared some of her experiences since first joining Frankfurt School as a student two years ago: “Frankfurt School thrives on diversity – on people who make colourful contributions to the campus and leave a strong personal impression. I would like to invite you all to get involved in your own way, according to your own lights, and nurture the Frankfurt School spirit.”

The Opening Ceremony was held in the Mall on the Frankfurt campus; it was also live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. With background music and impro acts between the speeches, the atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful. The evening finished with an exclusive dinner for the new students in the Audimax foyer.
