Frankfurt am Main, 27.08.2021 12:00:00

At the start of the week, Frankfurt School welcomed 376 new students into the business school’s Pre-experience Master programmes – 45 more students than last year. The ceremony, held on the Frankfurt campus, clearly reflected the continuing growth of the business school’s Master of Finance, Master in Management and Master in Applied Data Science programmes. Frankfurt School President Professor Dr Nils Stieglitz was the first to greet the new cohort: “For you, today marks the opening of a new chapter. You have chosen to be part of Frankfurt School to learn, to grow, to transform yourselves – and we’re proud to be writing that chapter with you. Make the most of it and have a great time.”

In his address, Frankfurt School alumnus Dr Johannes Rosenthal, Managing Director of Dr. Oetker (UK) Ltd., spoke about the time he spent studying at Frankfurt School, telling his listeners how he benefited from his studies and what makes Frankfurt School unique for him. “The things I learned at Frankfurt School are fundamental – they’re essential for everything that comes afterwards. Throughout my career, they’ve been the things that put me where I am now.” Frankfurt School awarded Dr Johannes Rosenthal his Master of Science degree in 2008 and then, three years later, his doctorate in Managerial Economics. He has headed Dr. Oetker’s British team since 2017 as Managing Director in charge of 600 employees and a pizza factory.

Patrick Becker – currently studying for a Master in Management degree at Frankfurt School, having graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2021 – also extended a very warm welcome to the new students: “You’ve done everything right by choosing Frankfurt School!” As one of two recipients of the FS Spirit Award 2020, a Senior Ambassador and head of the FS Economy & Politics initiative, he is heavily involved in the student community.

The ceremony was held in the Mall on the business school’s Frankfurt campus, and was also live-streamed for online participants. An interactive drumming show followed the welcoming addresses and the evening finished with a barbecue, giving the new students a chance to meet each other and make their first Frankfurt School contacts.
