“The hard work during the pandemic was worth it”

Every year, the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) awards a prize to an international student at Frankfurt School who has particularly distinguished himself or herself through social commitment. This award honours special personalities who achieve good academic results and also promote community and intercultural exchange. This year, the prize which is endowed with 1,000 euros goes to Jiawei Li from China. He is studying for a Master's degree in Applied Data Science (MADS). Jiawei Li started his studies at FS in 2020 - during the Corona pandemic - and successfully completed his first year of studies online from China. As Class Representative, he has been representing the online students and addressing their concerns to the MADS programme management. Jiawei Li has been in Frankfurt since the winter semester of 2021/22 and is still actively involved as a Class Representative. He is also engaged as an FS Ambassador and as a Buddy in the FS Exchange Buddy Initiative.
