IGC Conference

Frankfurt am Main, 19.11.2021 12:00:00

On 11 November, Frankfurt School and its partners officially launched the new Indo-German Centre for Business Excellence (IGC) at the Inaugural Annual Conference. About 150 participants joined on Campus in Frankfurt and online.

The programme included sessions on a wide range of topics affecting Indo-German business relations, from general discussions on the economic outlook for the two countries to more specific talks about healthcare, digitalisation, entrepreneurship and venture capital.

Speakers and panellists included the German Ambassador to India, Walter J. Lindner; the Indian Consul General in Frankfurt Dr Amit Telang; Puneet Chhatwal, the Managing Director and CEO of The Indian Hotels Company and President of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce; Soumitra Bhattacharya, President of Bosch Group in India; Bernd Leukert, Head of Technology, Data and Innovation and Board Member at Deutsche Bank; and Professor Amrita Narlikar, the President of the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA).

The event left enough time for interaction and networking among the participants during the breaks and the evening reception, which featured innovative Indo-German fusion cuisine.

“We are delighted to experience such broad support from different organisations for our new Centre”, said Frankfurt School’s President Professor Nils Stieglitz. “Now we need to fill it with life, and I invite every stakeholder with interest in Indo-German business relations to play an active role.”

The IGC is a registered association under German law (eingetragener Verein) with non-profit tax status. Chaired by the President of Frankfurt School, the Centre’s mission is to foster a deeper understanding and more robust business ties between Germany and India. It supports and engages in research, community-building, student mobility and leadership development.
