New Master programme: EBI Master in European Banking and Financial Regulation

On 10 September 2022, Frankfurt School will be launching a new English-language Master programme, the EBI Master in European Banking and Financial Regulation, set up jointly by the European Banking Institute (EBI) and Frankfurt School. Graduates of the EBI Master programme will be awarded a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree; the course lasts 18 months and is aimed at professionals working for

• central banks, as well as supervisory, regulatory and resolution authorities,
• banks, investment firms, fund management companies and insurance companies specialising in supervisory law/compliance,
• auditing and consulting firms with auditing or project work involving supervisory law, and
• law firms specialising in financial regulation.

The programme will be taught by high-ranking academics from all over Europe who sit on the EBI’s Academic Board, as well as Frankfurt School faculty members. The curriculum will cover a wide range of topics, including financial systems, financial regulation and accounting, financial markets in crisis, consumer protection and behavioural economics, central bank policymaking, and ESG in the financial system. In-person classes will be held at weekends on the Frankfurt campus, accompanied by online classes on weekday evenings. This will enable students to pursue their professional careers as normal. The application deadline is 30 June 2022.

This is how the EBI Master programme will further enhance the professional development of new talents in Europe’s banking sector,” explained the Chair of EBI’s Supervisory Board, Dr Thomas Gstädtner. “We are delighted to have found such a competent partner in Frankfurt School, one of the best business schools in Europe,” he continued. As the contract was signed, Professor Nils Stieglitz, President of Frankfurt School, added that in his view: “The EBI’s European network of researchers and practitioners is directly relevant and highly attractive. Together, we will develop a degree programme that will attract huge interest and further strengthen the City of Frankfurt as a financial centre.”
