EBI Opening 2022 1266x321

Frankfurt am Main, 13.09.2022 12:00:00

Frankfurt School welcomes the first cohort of students of its latest Post-Experience Master programme – the EBI Master in EU Banking & Financial Regulation. The European Banking Institute (EBI) and Frankfurt School have set up the English-language programme.

The 18 months part-time programme is aimed at professionals working in the financial industry, supervisory authorities, auditing and consulting firms, as well as law firms specialising in financial regulation. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including financial systems, regulation and accounting, financial markets in crisis, consumer protection and behavioural economics, central bank policymaking, and ESG in the financial system.

Oliver Matthews, Vice President Degree Programmes at Frankfurt School, and Pascal Di Prima, the EBI Master’s Managing Director, welcomed the new students at the opening event on the Frankfurt Campus on 10 September. The welcome was followed by an introductory session from Programme Manager Sandra Varky and Study Advisor Aylin Alpaslan.

Professor Christos Gortsos, Academic Director and President of the EBI Academic Board, gave an overview of the status quo of EU banking regulation and the way ahead. Professor Edgar Löw, Professor of Management Practice in Accounting and Programme Director, concluded the introductory speeches by summarising the business model of Wirecard and selected consequences on audit procedures.

The opening event finished with lunch and a boat trip, giving the new students a chance to meet each other and make their first Frankfurt School contacts.
