Frankfurt am Main, 28.08.2023 12:00:00

It is the second time in a row that Frankfurt School has exceeded the mark of 100 new students in the Bachelor in Betriebswirtschaftslehre (BA). All 133 students of the class of 2023 are already working and will study on the Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg or Munich campuses or use the popular virtual BA@Home option. Welcome!

The Academic Director of the programme, Professor Jörg Werner, welcomed all students at the opening ceremony on 25 August. He then turned the floor over to Frankfurt School President and CEO Professor Nils Stieglitz, who emphasised the importance of networking in his welcome address: “Reflecting on my own days as a student, two things come to my mind that I wish I had said to my former self. First, don't ask yourself if the material covered in class is relevant, because you can never be sure what will become important in your career. Second, get involved in student initiatives and build your own networks.”

Following Nils Stieglitz, Frankfurt School alumnus Florian Schindler, Compliance Manager and Deputy Money Laundering Officer at KfW Capital, welcomed the new students to the Frankfurt School community and shared his experiences at Frankfurt School: “Studying part-time demands a lot from students. You learn to organise yourself, set priorities, get used to new challenges quickly and work in a structured way. That still helps me enormously in my daily work.” Florian Schindler graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor in Betriebswirtschaftslehre and is currently a master's student in EU Banking & Financial Regulation (EBI) at Frankfurt School.

Leonard Tischel, who is currently studying for a Bachelor in Betriebswirtschaftslehre, spoke about his time at Frankfurt School so far – his advice: “One of the most valuable resources you will have at your disposal are your fellow students. The network you can build here will not only enrich you professionally, but will also be of great importance for future projects and contacts.” Leonard Tischel works for Sparda-Bank Hessen while studying part-time at Frankfurt School.

The Opening Ceremony took place in the mall on the Frankfurt campus, and following the welcome addresses a magician amazed the guests with his tricks. The evening finished with a barbecue, giving the new students a chance to meet each other and make their first Frankfurt School contacts.
