Frankfurt am Main, 30.08.2023 12:00:00

Frankfurt School welcomes 335 new students in its Pre-experience Master programmes. 167 students start in the Master of Finance, 113 in the Master in Management, 30 in the Master in Applied Data Science and 25 in the new Master of Financial Management.

At the opening ceremony on 28 August, which was moderated by Frankfurt School’s Head of Student and Alumni Affairs Lisa Ronneburger, Professor Nils Stieglitz, President and CEO of the business school, welcomed the students: “The start of the semester is always special for me. It reminds me of my own study experience many years ago. One of my key insights since then has been that learning happens not just in the classroom. It is just as important to get involved in student clubs and initiatives as it fosters relevant skills, creates networks and very often is the beginning of lifelong friendships. I hope this will be the case for you as you become a part of our community. Welcome to Frankfurt School.”

In his address, Frankfurt School alumnus Eric Reutemann stressed the importance of values: “During your time at Frankfurt School, you have the chance to get to know very interesting students from all over the world. Respect each other and learn to understand the different perspectives. This will only make you better.” Eric Reutemann is Managing Director at Frankfurt Galaxy and Master in Management alumnus class of 2014.

Sachin Baid, who is currently studying for a Master in Management at Frankfurt School, and winner of the FS Spirit Award of 2023, also extended a welcome to the new students: “My own journey here allowed me to forge connections with individuals from every corner of the globe, each bringing with them unique perspectives and a shared passion for learning. These connections transcended classrooms, as FS exclusive company events and community engagements often paved the way for lasting relationship.”

The ceremony was held in the mall on the business school’s Frankfurt campus. Being already a good tradition at the opening ceremonies, an interactive drumming show followed the welcoming addresses. The evening finished with a networking get-together and a barbecue in the Frankfurt School “Präsidialbau”, giving the new students a chance to meet each other and make their first contacts.

In addition to the opening ceremony, Frankfurt School offers an orientation week. It includes a comprehensive introduction to facilities and services such as the Learning Centre, Entrepreneurship Centre, Career Services and Student Support Services. It aims to help students to successfully start their time at the business school.
