Frankfurt am Main, 08.11.2023 12:00:00

This autumn, Frankfurt School welcomed 127 new students in the five part-time Master’s programmes Master in Corporate Performance & Restructuring, Master of Banking and Capital Markets Law, Master of Mergers & Acquisitions, Master in Data Analytics & Management and Master in EU Banking & Financial Regulation (EBI).

Frankfurt School alumnus Enis Lütkenhöner was a guest speaker at the Opening Ceremony for the German-language programmes on 3 November, where he looked back on his own time as a student and shared his thoughts: “I hope that you find the moments in life to pause and reflect on where your path has already taken you, to question where you want to go and what is really important to you. Don't forget to take it sportingly seeing setbacks as an opportunity for personal growth, to be brave and a little naive in trying new things and to maintain a balance between professional success and personal well-being. In 10 years' time, you will look back and realise that today you laid the foundations for something new.” Enis Lütkenhöner is Vice President M&A at ING. He completed his Master of Mergers and Acquisitions at Frankfurt School in 2020.

The two Opening Ceremonies for the English-language part-time Master's programmes – Master in EU Banking & Financial Regulation (EBI) and Master in Data Analytics & Management – took place in September and October. Erik Lehmann, Data Scientist at the GIZ Data Lab and Frankfurt School alumnus, shared his experiences as guest speaker at the Opening Ceremony of the Master in Data Analytics & Management programme. From the student side, Denis Loechel, Master in Data Analytics & Management student and Manager Data Analytics & AI at Capgemini Invent, welcomed the first-year students and gave the following advice: „Enjoy your time, have fun, but don’t treat this program or your time at FS as something secondary to your daily job, treat it as the primary objective not only because of the increased workload but because an excellent education will open doors for you that might have not been possible before, as you are at the cutting edge of modern technology.”

At the Opening Ceremony of the Master in EU Banking & Financial Regulation, Pilar Clavel, herself a student on this programme, welcomed the new fellow students: “I would like to share two tips to face this new phase of your lives. The first one: Do not hesitate to ask as even the simplest questions can lead to very interesting discussions. The second tip is: Go out! You meet once a month, make the best out of it, go have dinner and drinks, your class is going to be your family during the program, they will understand your struggles and help you out when you need it.”

The new students rounded off the Opening Ceremonies with a buffet in a relaxed atmosphere and made their first contacts in the Frankfurt School Community.
