Under the title “Rethinking Manufacturing in India and Germany: Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Growth”, the Indo-German Centre for Business Excellence held its Annual Conference on October 13. After two successful conferences in Frankfurt, the third took place for the first time in India with co-host and a founding member, Mahindra University, Hyderabad.

With India and Germany being key players in the manufacturing sector, the focus of the conference stimulated discussions on current issues such as sustainable manufacturing, building skilled workforces and the use of emerging technologies; as well as the potential for further collaboration between the two countries. In line with the ideas of industry 5.0, a further key topic was the necessity to build a sustainable, human-centric and resilient industry.

The conference welcomed over 100 participants with senior representatives from academia, government and non-profit organisations and business. Keynote speeches were held by Georg Enzweiler, Deputy Head of German Mission to India, T. K. Ramesh, Ace Micromatic Group and Kannan Chakravarthy, Mahindra Logistics.

The event was sponsored by Mahindra University, Hyderabad and Frankfurt RheinMain.
