540 new Bachelor of Science students – a warm welcome to Frankfurt School

Frankfurt School is welcoming 540 new Bachelor of Science students this year, exceeding the mark of 500 new students in the three Bachelor of Science programmes, Bachelor in Business Administration, Bachelor in Computational Business Analytics and Bachelor in Management, Philosophy & Economics for the first time.

At the Opening Ceremony on 2 September on the campus Frankfurt School President and CEO Professor Nils Stieglitz was the first to greet the new students. He was followed by FS alumnus Jens Bender, Managing Director at Citigroup, who spoke about his time as a student and provided some valuable insights: “Be curious to learn and use the alumni network. Don’t wait for invitations, approach the network proactively. Success does not automatically come to you, it’s a function of what you make out of the toolbox. With Frankfurt School as your university, you have an excellent toolbox at hand – learn how to use it and accelerate.” Jens Bender graduated from Frankfurt School in 2005.

Master in Management student Lea Kutschera compared the students’ journey at Frankfurt School to a perfect Aperol Spritz, appreciated for the balance of its bittersweet and sparkling ingredients. She then shared three guiding principles helpful to carry the news students through their time at Frankfurt School – engage, explore, enjoy: “Engage in initiatives and make an impact, keep an open mind and step out of your comfort zone, and finally: Don’t forget to enjoy your student life!” Lea Kutschera is exceptionally committed to the FS community and has been winner of the FS Spirit Award in 2023.

Following the welcome addresses, a magician amazed the guests with his tricks. The Opening Ceremony concluded with a get-together including drinks and five food stalls, each representing different regional specialties.

In the week before the Opening Ceremony, the new Bachelor of Science students already had the opportunity to get a comprehensive introduction to the business school during the Frankfurt School Orientation Week.
