On April 29th, 2025, members of the FS Sustainability Initiative from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management visited DZ BANK’s headquarters in Frankfurt to deliver a set of 18 SDG Cubes. The cubes' sides are used to highlight the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), their urgency and ongoing efforts. As they are used as cushions, they initiate and support conversations on all aspects of sustainability.
The student representatives included the Heads Aryan Goswami, Steffen Matthei and Melissa Peura, joined by Angelika Werner (Vice President Strategic Relations at Frankfurt School) and Micha Ruppert (Content Creator, Frankfurt School). DZ BANK representatives welcomed them: Frank Scheidig (Head of Global Senior Executive Banking), Christian Gärtner (Abteilungsdirektor, Senior Executive Banking), Georg Behrendt del Pozo (Event Manager), and Lennart Stackelbrandt (Head of Sustainability at DZ Bank).

The SDG Cubes project is a FS Sustainability-led initiative designed to raise awareness and spark dialogue around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Each of the 17 cubes represents an individual SDG, while the 18th offers an overview of global progress. DZ BANK became the sponsor for the project enabling the successful display of a first set of the 18 cubes at Frankfurt School, further deepening their ties with the body of students at Frankfurt School. As part of the sponsorship, DZ BANK ordered their own set to further demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and to raise more awareness between staff and visitors.

During the visit, both teams engaged in an open exchange about sustainability strategy, with DZ BANK sharing insights into their efforts to integrate the SDGs as central themes into their business model. This allowed the students to gain first-hand knowledge of sustainable banking practices, with DZ BANK underlining their increased efforts in sustainability and strengthening its reputation as a forward-thinking, and responsible cornerstone in the financial sector.
The collaboration between DZ BANK and Frankfurt School strengthened the ties between the two institutions and was marked by a warm atmosphere and constructive exchange, with DZ BANK proving to be an excellent and engaged host.
