Successful launch of the Venture Capital Certificate programme

On 27 October, the new Certified Venture Capital Expert certificate programme kicked off at the Frankfurt School campus. From 27 October to 1 November 2025, a total of 12 participants gained comprehensive insights into the structure and functioning of venture capital and venture capital funds as forms of financing for start-ups and high-growth companies.

The one-week programme marks the start of the new venture capital certificate programme series developed by Frankfurt School in collaboration with KfW Capital as part of the WIN initiative. The aim of the initiative is to strengthen access to growth and innovation capital in Germany and to promote the qualification of investors for the venture capital asset class.

A particular highlight was the get-together hosted by Futury in the Bertramshof event space. The relaxed atmosphere provided an opportunity for networking and discussing current developments in the venture capital industry.

“With the launch of the Certified Venture Capital Expert Programme, we are providing important impetus for promoting the German start-up scene and innovative strength,” says Anke Welkoborsky, Senior Programme Manager of the certificate programme. “The enormous response to the programmes and the extremely positive feedback from participants show how relevant practical training in this area is – with renowned lecturers and absolute experts from the VC field.”

The Certified Venture Capital Expert foundation programme is aimed at specialists and managers in investment management, particularly in family offices, pension funds, insurance companies and private equity firms. It comprises five compulsory modules and offers a systematic overview of the key aspects of venture capital investments – from due diligence and legal and tax frameworks to portfolio management and future trends. The advanced Certified Venture Capital Senior Expert programme deepens this knowledge and supplements it with formats such as pitch training, skills workshops and coaching sessions.
