On 10 September 2025, the first FS Real Estate Career Day took place on the Frankfurt School campus. Around 250 students used the opportunity to learn about career paths in the real estate industry, make valuable contacts and gain exclusive insights into the sector. 17 renowned companies gave students direct insights into possible entry and career opportunities.
In addition, the diverse programme offered exciting insights: Alexander Dahmen, Managing Director at Leaderslead Advisory GmbH, presented various job profiles, career paths and entry opportunities in his talk ‘A career in real estate – what are the possibilities?’ and used practical examples to illustrate the diversity of the industry. This was followed by two alumni sessions that gave students personal insights into successful career paths: Yvonne Würtz, FS alumna 2007 and Vice President Real Estate Business Management at BayernLB, and Tim Brückner, CFO of DEMIRE Deutsche Mittelstand Real Estate AG, talked about their careers and their current roles and shared valuable tips for starting a career.
Another highlight was the case study ‘From Assets to Estates: real-life case study on financing a green commercial property,’ presented by Sascha Klaus, member of the LBBW Board of Managing Directors, CEO of Berlin Hyp and FS alumnus from 1998. The students worked in small groups on a real-life business problem regarding the financing of a sustainable commercial property and received direct feedback from LBBW company representatives.
In a 45-minute workshop led by the FS Career Services team, students learned how to create a compelling LinkedIn profile and develop their careers through targeted networking.
“With the first FS Real Estate Career Day, we brought ambitious students together with leading companies in the real estate and finance industry – in a practical and interactive event. Our goal is to connect young talents at an early stage and prepare them specifically for their careers in the real estate world,” said Professor Dr Kerstin Hennig, Head of the FS Real Estate Institute.
The event concluded with an exclusive networking dinner, which gave company representatives and students the opportunity to deepen their contacts through intensive discussions. The Real Estate Career Day thus proved to be an ideal platform for both sides: companies were able to approach promising talent at an early stage, while students gained direct access to internships, entry-level opportunities and valuable insights into the real estate and finance industries.
