Our Foundation Year at a glance

Would you like to study at Frankfurt School but do not yet meet the requirements for direct entry into our bachelor programme? Or perhaps you want to get a solid foundation before moving on to the next level of education? The two-semester Foundation Year taught entirely in English will prepare you academically for the rigour of undergraduate studies at Frankfurt School.

During the programme, you will build your foundational knowledge as well as decide what subjects you would like to specialise in to be fully prepared for the Bachelor of Science programme of your choice. You will also have exclusive access to:

Undergraduate studies in bachelor programmes at Frankfurt School are rigorous and academically demanding. To perform well, it is crucial to possess excellent mathematical and language skills. Application process

1) Online Application

Please apply via our online application portal for one of our Bachelor of Sciene programmes. Our admissions team will assess your suitability for our preparatory course and Bachelor programmes.

Language Skills

German: no specific requirements.

English: As we have incorporated an English language test into our Assessment Centre, you are not required to submit an English certificate with your application. If you do not meet the English language requirements at our Assessment Centre, we will contact you to discuss further options.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for the study start in September 2024, is 30 June 2024.

2) Assessment Centre

At Frankfurt School there is no Numerus Clausus (NC). Successful applicants will be invited to an Online Assessment Centre (AC).

3) Results

You will receive a feedback regarding your application within a week. Aside frome school grades and performances at the Online Assessment center, we also take into account other significant experiences, commitments or awards such as internships, international experiences and volunteer projects.

4) Programme Start

The study start is in September every year. The introduction week takes places a week ahead. Within this week you will meet your fellow students.

Additionally, students should plan EUR 1.000 - 1.500 per month for living expenses (including housing).

Students have the option to arrange monthly instalments. A surcharge of 5% of the tuition fees to be paid is levied as an administrative expense.

Scholarships

Unfortunately, there are no scholarships available for our Foundation Year.

Once you are doing the foundation course, we can take you into consideration for the Frankfurt School Bachelor of Science scholarship programme. We will take a look at your school grades, mid-term and final results (foundation programme), extracurricular achievements and assessment results from your application. If you are chosen for the scholarship, we will then award you the scholarship early so that you know in advance if you receive a scholarship for the BSc.

Housing

By the end of 2023, we are planning to build around 1,100 new student apartments and furnished serviced apartments on our Adickesallee campus. Over 80 percent of the apartments are earmarked for rental to students.

While building work continues on our on-campus student apartments, we do have a selection of fully furnished apartments at Yugo and Alvarium student hostel in the centre of Frankfurt’s Bockenheim district.
