Bryan Spencer is a PhD candidate at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. His research is at the intersection of organizational theory and strategy. He uses qualitative methods to study how people and organizations adapt and respond to technological change. Specifically, he has conducted research focusing on the impact of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and cryptocurrencies. Bryan is currently conducting a year-long ethnographic study at a major research hospital in China to understand the impact of AI on people and organizations.
Prior to joining Frankfurt School in 2017, Bryan worked in various capacities for venture capital and family office firms focused on China-based initiatives in education, healthcare, media, real estate, and renewable energy. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas, and his master’s from Nanjing University.
