Claus Rerup joined the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in 2017 as a Professor of Management.
His areas of expertise include routine dynamics, organizational learning, and attention/sensemaking. In his research he uses qualitative methods. Rerup’s work has been published in academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, and Organization Science. He has current or previous editorial positions on the boards of the Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Studies and Strategic Organization.
Professor Rerup teaches undergraduate, master, MBA, Executive MBA and PhD courses on leadership, organizational behavior, and organization theory. He has also delivered workshops on these topics to audiences in a range of organizations, including Ontario Teachers’ Pension Fund (Canada), Ernst and Young (Germany), Norma Group (Germany), and Prudential Insurance (Hong Kong). His teaching has been recognized by several awards, including the 2019 Award for Outstanding Teaching Performance at Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
Prior to joining Frankfurt School, Rerup was an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Ivey Business School, Western University, Canada. He has held visiting professor positions at Université Nice Sophia Antipolis, GREDEG, France, University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, and Bocconi University, Italy. He obtained his PhD from the Aarhus School of Business, Aarhus University, Denmark (where he currently is a part time professor), and completed Visiting Scholar positions at Stanford University and University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, and a Post Doc Research Fellowship at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
