Full Professor for Business Administration at the University of Bayreuth since 1996. He studied at the University of Münster, Germany, with a Diploma Degree in 1986 and a doctorate degree in 1990. Research Assistant at the Institute of Industrial and Health Care Management, University of Münster, from 1986 to 1995. Habilitation (venia legendi) in 1995. Subsequently Professor for Industrial Management at the University of Frankfurt. Since 1996 Chair for Operations Management at the University of Bayreuth. Co-Direktor of the Institute for Medical Care Management and Health Care Sciences at the University of Bayreuth. Permanent visiting professor at Frankfurt School.
