Personal Details

Nataliia Cherkas: Senior Programme Manager at Sustainable World Academy and Programme Director of the Master of Leadership in Sustainable Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. She is also an Affiliated Faculty at the Department of Economics & Law at FS. Nataliia holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is a habilitated Doctor in International Economics. Before joining Frankfurt School, she held research and academic positions at several institutions, including Lviv University of Trade and Economics (Ukraine), University of Redlands (USA), Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany), Kyiv National Economic University (Ukraine), and European University Viadrina (Germany). She has also lectured in international study programs across Italy, Greece, France, Spain, and Turkey.
Research Interests: Nataliia’s research interests span international trade, economic growth, global value chains, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and sustainability. She conducted research stays at Henley Business School, University of Reading (UK) in 2019 and 2020, as well as at the Graduate College “The Economics of Innovative Change,” Department of Economics, Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena (Germany) from 2017 to 2019 and School of Business, University of Redlands, CA (USA) from 2013 to 2015.
Awards and Recognition: In 2014, Dr. Cherkas served as a keynote speaker at the Political Science Society, California State University of San Bernardino (USA). She received the J.W. FULBRIGHT Award from the U.S. Department of State in 2013. Earlier, in 2012, she was honored by the Lviv Regional State Administration for her research contributions to socio-economic transformation. In 2006, she was the First Prize in the Competition for Young Scholars organized by KNEU, the Centre for Trade Policy and Law (CTPL) at Carleton University, and the University of Ottawa, and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
Teaching Experience: Nataliia has taught courses in International Economics, International Business, Global Finance, and European Economics across Bachelor, Master, MBA, and Executive programs. Additionally, she occasionally serves as a trainer, invited speaker, or conference host.
