In this Master of Finance concentration students are not only exposed to the numbers and accounting behind financial transactions such as in M&A, but are challenged to go a step further and use this knowledge in decision-making and financial advisory through case studies and projects which typically include guest speakers from external firms. Students will gain hands-on experience through an applied advisory project in which they are working on a real life case given by one of our corporate partners.

Financial Markets & Institutions

Upon completion of the course, students have a solid understanding of the role of different financial institutions and of the key drivers of structural changes in the financial sector. They are able to evaluate how financial institutions are affected by a changing environment. More specifically, students have a thorough knowledge of threats to the stability of individual financial institutions and of mechanism endangering the resilience of large parts of the financial system. In addition, students understand the reasons for financial regulations enabling them also to assess the consequences of regulatory changes for the financial industry.

Restructuring and Strategic Management Control

Upon successful completion of this module students will be prepared for a career in consulting firms, the financial advisory task of audit firms, and more generally for executive positions in the finance function of medium sized large corporations.

Financial Information & Decision-Making

The techniques consist of preparing pro-forma financial statements, forecasting of free cash flows, application of valuation models, and understanding market-multiple valuation approaches.
